Piano Adjudicator Andrew Hisey
Dr. Andrew Hisey is recognized for his innovative work teaching people to engage with and make music at the piano. He holds advanced degrees in piano pedagogy and performance from the University of Michigan. Since 1994, he has served successively on the piano faculties of the Oberlin Conservatory (OH), St. Olaf College and the University of St. Thomas (MN), and in the Department of Music and Arts Technology at Indiana University-Purdue University, Indianapolis, where he also directed the IUPUI Community Music Academy. Andrew is an active collaborative performer and soloist, and has been heard throughout the Midwest USA and Canada. He has adjudicated, performed, or presented workshops in nearly forty American states and in eight Canadian provinces. A longtime senior member of the Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto) College of Examiners, Dr. Hisey has also been involved in numerous editorial, curriculum development, and publishing projects with the RCM. Andrew loves to travel and has taught recreational keyboard classes on numerous cruises around the globe in a creative educational collaboration between the Yamaha Corporation and Crystal Cruises. Andrew is thrilled to be taking part as a piano adjudicator at MusicFest Northwest for a sixth time in 2020.

Dates

This year's festival takes place May 10th - 15th, 2020

Young Artist Concert: Wednesday May 13th, 2020 at 7:30pm

Festival Highlights Concert: Friday May 15th, 2020 at 7:30pm

Both concerts take place at the Martin Woldson theatre at the FOX and are FREE and open to the public! Come and support the next generation of artists!

Location Information

All division adjudications take place on the beautiful campus of Gonzaga University.

Organ division takes place at St. John's Cathedral - 127 E. 12th Avenue
