On Sunday, November 3rd, MusicFest Northwest is thrilled to announce that our esteemed alumni, Johnny Curtis (tenor) and Christopher Lee Anderson (piano and violin), will perform front-of-house music before the Spokane Symphony’s concert, Masterworks 3.
Both Curtis and Anderson have been recognized for their exceptional artistry, having won numerous medals at MusicFest Northwest. Their impressive accolades are a testament to their dedication and the rigorous training they are receiving from their teachers.
The Spokane Symphony, under the baton of conductor Morihiko Nakahara, will feature an all-American program that celebrates the 100th anniversary of Rhapsody in Blue. It opens with the Celebration Overture by local composer Greg Yasinitsky; the second half of the concert will highlight dance, showcasing John Adams’ Cha Cha for Chairman Mao and Bernstein’s lively depiction of sailors on shore leave in New York City.
Curtis and Anderson’s pre-show performance will create a delightful atmosphere for concert-goers, setting the stage for what promises to be an unforgettable evening of music with the Spokane Symphony.
This collaboration not only showcases the remarkable achievements of our alumni but also reinforces MusicFest Northwest’s commitment to fostering a vibrant musical community. By providing these exceptional artists with opportunities to perform in our community, we continue to celebrate the transformative power of music in bringing people together.
Join us in supporting our alumni as they take the spotlight, sharing their passion and dedication to music with the Spokane community. We look forward to an afternoon filled with inspiration, artistry, and a celebration of the enduring connections forged through MusicFest Northwest. See Johnny and Christopher precede the SSO this Sunday at 3pm in the Founders’ Gallery at The Fox Theatre (1001 W Sprague Avenue, Spokane WA 99210).
Here’s to the continued success of our alumni and the bright future of music in our community!
